A little tap-dance interval... 'My hips are moving at a right good pace'

OK, so not STRICTLY modelling-related, but I had to post this. It's a video from my final year at the University of Nottingham (nearly two years ago now), of the dance society's advanced tap class performing a rocking oriental-infused tap routine to Britney Spears vs. Madonna's 'Me against the Music'. This was one of the routines in our annual dance show (I also did street, ballet and bellydance in that show) and we also won first place in a national university dance competition. Makes so much sense to film these things!

It's just a home video and you can't always hear the taps, but it brings back SO many good memories for me. Plus, it's just hilarious. Check out the bit where we try to tap dance kneeling on one leg, and the bit at the end where the music cuts out and we scuffle off-stage. We still won though because Hayley (choreographer) knows how to stage a dance off with classy footwork. Aaww. I miss those girls!! :-)

Turn up the volume and watch closely...
Tappety-tap (I'm the one in the light grey trousers and one-shoulder black top - at the beginning I come in behind the red trousers)

Winter Portraits

...taken by Jewelled Earth. I love the circley bokeh effect in these.

Am also v v excited to hear we are not finished with the snow here in Oxfordshire - more to come on Wed, apparently! :o)

I love winter!

I've realised I don't hate winter at all. How can anyone hate it when it looks like this? Autumn was beautiful and the snow that followed in winter didn't fail to impress me either. I feel so lucky to live in the countryside at times like this!

I'm about to receive shots from snowy modelling shoots, which I cannot wait for, but in the meantime, here are some I took when I finally decided to ignore my cold (first, and I'm hoping only, snuffles of the season) and go sledging with my boyfriend and friends on my Dad's old wooden sleigh - it put these modern plastic-tray efforts to shame. :-) :-)

Boys being boys:

Ella 'Mario Kart' Rose (you would not believe how far I went. The slopes were a lot steeper than they look!!):

Snow, wonderful snow!

P.S. One of the many cool things about not having a 9-5 job in an office means I don't get the snow grump which seems to settle over everyone after about day 3 of snow. I just love it. I'm sad that it's going to thaw over the next few days. But it's amazing to think that the places below will be carpeted in bluebells come April. Go Mother Earth!

Actually...

It seems Ginge did make a final cut after all!!! And here he is, the stealthy thing, just before I notice his little face peering at me (thanks Richard!):

Kitchen

A quick post to share some latest images from working with Richard Lund in Karen's gorgeous country home (in which I always seem to get lost and forget which way I have entered when it comes to leaving, thus seeming like a madwoman looking for the front door). The theme (you've guessed it) was 'kitchen'.

For the first set, I generally hung out at odds with gravity. Then I watched Karen throw flour over her face for the sake of art. Finally, we turfed Ginge, the cat, most ungraciously off the bed for the last set. Sadly, he didn't make it into the final images (as far as I know). Next time, Ginge, next time... Really, though, the number of photographer pets I have (accidentally or otherwise) shared a frame with, it's about time I had some portfolio evidence.

Anyway... here you are!
